Founding Principles: SLP was founded by Ehren Benson and Steve DeKarske in January of 2007. We were both sitting one day reminiscing on our college times and were thinking the one thing we missed was the ability to play games with and get to know people from MSU. With such a large number of people you know there are a good percentage who enjoy playing video games but do not have an outlet to do so with their peers. So we decided to facilitate just that. Ehren is a 2005 Graduate of MSU now working in the Physics and Astronomy Department. Steve is currently a senior finishing up his last class. Steve and Ehren have been long time friends from their hometown and roommates while both attending MSU. Many hours of our time was spent playing video games with friends around our hall. SLP intends to gather those Spartans with like interests in a common arena for both pleasure and competition. To be quite honest much of "who we are" is yet undecided for the reason that we want YOU the members to decide who SLP is and what SLP does. We are merely facilitators to the end goal. However we can not go headlong into the wind with no direction so our goals stand as previously stated: To successfully market our organization and collect as much interest as possible. From there we would like to turn that interest into commitment to the group and organization and empower those who are willing and able to help us make this dream a reality. I say dream because this really is a dream of ours to see happen. We have planned lan parties so many times at our homes or other places with just our immediate friends, and those of you who have tried the same know, its usually frustrating when you only end up with a couple of players. It is our dream that we could get a good number of individuals to show up to our events and have a blast getting to know each other and enjoying some fragging at MSU.
